Although the creation of Velvet Assassin began as early as 2003 (originally named Sabotage 1943 and conceived for PS2, XBox and PC), it will in the end be coming out tomorrow -April 28th 2009- on Nextgen platforms! The end result concerning this spy game developed by Replay Studios and produced by Gamecock Media Group was therefore pretty long to come.
The player of Velvet Assassin will embody charming Violette Szabo, who is an MI6 agent sent in Europe during World War II to carry out various operations (murders, information gathering…) bringing her from French cathedrals to German catacombs. Fans of action and infiltration should feel very familiar with this rather typical spy game. However, there’s no doubt that male players should enjoy all the more Nazis fighting at the helm of such a sexy English heroine…
Sega’s future role playing game will be called End of Eternity. Although it probably won’t be coming out before beginning of 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360, it already draws the attention due to the fact it is to be developed by Tri-Ace, responsible for the very successful Star Ocean. Role players from the whole world are now looking forward to this game supposed to take them to a devastated world where survivors have found shelter in a giant tower.
When compared to usual heroic-fantasy atmospheres of most role plays, End of Eternity definitely stands out with its post-apocalyptic gloomy and futuristic world as shown in the first video. The gamer will embody a 17 years old teen named Zephyr, whose mission is to save Experiment 20, a young girl supposed to dye on her 20th birthday.
As suggested in the trailer, gunfights seem much more relevant than rusty swords in this RPG.
No need to present the Battlefield saga anymore. As far as first person shooter games are concerned, Electronic Arts demonstrated their know-how with games taking place during World War II and take up all the attention when it comes to multiplayer mode. Battlefield Heroes is not a continuation to the original series but rather a separate episode. In this very cartoon-like graphic style, the action game stands out from its elder brothers by integrating humour as a main policy.
Despite its rather different aspect, this Battlefield was carefully and very seriously conceived. The player will be able to choose its belonging to one of the two armies where he will then pick out one of the 3 types of characters (Commando, Soldier or Gunner), each of which have typical aspects evolving throughout the different levels.
Finally, it is worth knowing that Battlefield Heroes is the first of “Play 4 Free” game selection, enabling gamers to download it and play for free. Its conception should payoff thanks to advertising and a micro-payment system taking place on the website, through which it is necessary to go before starting any game. Another interesting initiative for an already exciting game on many points!

The eldest must probably remember this special day of 1986 where they heard for the very first time the name of Link, the green hat Elf, fighting with his sword to deliver princess Zelda. This series has since then become very successful and was the occasion for Nintendo to drag Link along by each new console release to new quests and donjons. The fact that each episode receives a guaranteed success has a lot to do with their constant innovation in order not to let the franchise stagnate.
As one of their great fans, it was my duty to let you know about the existing trailer of the saga’s next episode, presently being developed for Nintendo DS. The video presented during the Game Developers Conference 2009 unveils the first pictures of The Legend of Zelda : Spirit Tracks. Although we know nothing yet concerning the story, the following pictures lead us to assume the game play and design are close to Phantom Hourglass… Once more, patience is the word!
