With its coming out date approaching more and more (November 11th 2009 for Japan), Suano Katabuchi’s second movie called Mai Mai Miracle progressively unveils online. Produced by Madhouse, the new adventure movie from the director of Princess Arrete and the Black Lagoon series offers to internet users a short 30 seconds trailer that can be seen on Japanese producer Avex’s Youtube account… For those who hadn’t seen the last article on the subject, the story will relate the magic adventures from a 9 year old girl, Shinko Aoki, who will discover she has family ties with a legend called Suo.
The Asian Pinocchio has a new poster as well as a new trailer in order to keep fans waiting until the actual release date in North America supposed to be October 23rd. This 3D animation movie produced by David Bowers shows once more the collaboration between American and Japanese studios. For the record, this 2009 version from Astro Boy is also the third attempt to adapt to cinema the little creature first created in the early 50’s by Osamu Tezula…
This animated science fiction project coming from the States, War of the worlds: Goliath, reminds us from Hollywood’s greatest success of the same kind. Directed by Joe Pearson (from Epoch Ink Animation) and set by David Abramowitz (Highlander), the 3 million dollars direct-to-video is to be released in february 2010. Though the movie is financed by the USA (by Tripod Entertainment and Kevin Eastman), the animation is mainly produced in South Korea at Sun Min Image Studios. Reminding us of Redline from Takeshi Koike and it’s with futuristic races, Tailenders is an independent animated project, which has been conceived by Picograph, a collective group from Hollaido University of Education graduates. What makes this long feature rather unusual is the fact that it is being produced by Anime Innovation Tokyo, an investment and production firm supporting financially various television and cinema animation projects. Both videos presented down below are part of the promotional campaigns realised in the aim of finding funding enabling the Tailender to be produced… Let’s hope these pictures will finish convincing various sponsors of the project’s great potential!
