New video of Square’s future hit

While Final Fantasy XIII’s release in Japan is getting ever closer (precisely on December 17th 2009), a new video has just come around the corner on the internet. Revealed during Tokyo Game Show 2010, this 7 magical minutes long trailer gives you the opportunity to marvel once more at the impressive graphics for Square Enix’s future hit, 7 minutes of pure pleasure with many insides to the gameplay, scenes focused on Snow and Serah’s love story and many more… A real treat!

Halo without Master Chief

A Halo without any Master Chief would just sound like a perfect joke! I can already hear screams from thousands of fans from the FPS Halo saga on Xbox and Xbox 360, blaming for conspiracy and numerical murder of their hero… Don’t worry, this Halo 3 : ODST isn’t really a new episode from the series. Let’s rather call it a complementary episode to the 3rd part, enabling to plunge once more into the science fiction world from Microsoft’s famous saga.

The game enables you to play a soldier from the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (hence, the title OSDT), which has been settled in New Mombassa. As in every video game, things go wrong and your ship meets technical problems, leading it to crash on this devastated megalopolis where you will pass into a 6 hours coma. Bad luck, when waking up, you end up lost and alone and additionally facing hordes of unpleasant Covenants. The aim of this Adventure FPS is to investigate on what really happened and find your workmates before they get eaten by aliens. Some noticeable differences (no strength field nor stamina, new weapons, new visualisation mode for the battle field, etc…) make it an original adventure and totally new to fans of the saga. With or without Masterchief, an essential purchase as soon as September 22nd!

Tempting trailers

Today is the opportunity to introduce you to two small videos dedicated to two video games of very different generations, but both of legendary size.

As you probably guessed, the first one concerns the revelation to blue hedgehog supporters of a return to roots in the next Sonic (currently called Project Needlemouse), that finally announces a 2D comeback claimed for so long by fans! No other information is available right now, but it seems that Sega wishes to tie again with the great times of Megadrive, as the latest tries for a 3D Sonic have been rather disappointing… Hence, no other choice than to patiently wait, following to this strange Sega announcement: Speed is back in a brand new adventure that will start from the beginning…

The second video is to present GTA IV : The Ballad Of Gay Tony. In this next extension for Xbox Live that is to be released by the end of October, you will play the part of Luis Lopez, body guard to this so-called Tony, and whose activities will lead you to the dangers of night life and its traffics in Liberty City, a virtual equivalent to New York…

Three Samus for the price of one

Good news for Samus Aran’s fans, the videogame equivalent from Helen Ripley, as their favourite metroid hunter is coming back since last August 24th on Wii with Metroid Prime Trilogy. As suggested in its name, MPT gathers on one DVD all three episodes from the saga Metroid Prime. In a clever mix of action, adventure and FPS, the trilogy Metroid Prime has managed to renew the concept of the Metroid saga pre-32 bits, though well rooted into fans habits. Retro Studio’s work has been great, as changing the gameplay from this much loved Nintendo saga was risky! However the new concept from Metroid’s world has overhauled it without altering the legend…

Gathering Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Game Cube) and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii) on a single disc without bringing in some new features would have been less advantageous. Hence, in order to justify its commercialization, Nintendo offers an upgrade from the first two episode’s gameplay. Both games coming from Game Cube now benefit from an identical handiness to the Corruption one, growing stronger the immersion into the game’s world.  The compilation will enable the gamer to play with a full screen display (16/9) with Normal or Veteran difficulty, and with many bonuses and artwork that unlock during the evolution of the story! Though this Metroid Trilogy might not be essential for those that already hold all 3 games separately, it is on the other hand vital for those who wish to discover these wonderful videogame gems!
