Straight out of David Perry’s overactive imagination, who is well known for his funny platform games, the most famous video worm with the robotic suit will be back in 2010 on XBLA and PSN. Sadly this won’t be any new episode but only a High Definition remake from the saga’s very first part, though still improved with various bonuses such as new levels, improved graphics and more importantly, a multi player mode (4 simultaneously)… Released back then on Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Game Gear, Gameboy, Mega-CD and PC, the game at that time stood out thanks to its daft humour in cartoon-like graphs with pleasantly crazy characters! So if our favourite worm treats himself to a face lift, why miss it?

Several months have gone by now since we last heard anything new concerning Takeshi Koike’s exciting project Redline. Now provided with a new trailer, a poster as well as an official Twitter (http://twitter.com/REDLINE_ACB), it is a delight to bring once more up this animation that comes straight from Madhouse studio! Directed by Takeshi Koike (already responsible for Animatrix’s sketch “World Record”) and designed by Katsuhito Ishii, this animated and overexcited Japanese version from Wacky Races is the continuation to 2001’s Trava: Fist Planet. With around 8 million dollars budget, the feature is now done and has even been shown last month in Annecy’s international film festival! Please take a look at both pictures under which introduce us to the hotspurs taking part to this futuristic race and their fast cars… All we have to do now is wait for a more satisfying release time than just “autumn 2010” as it is currently mentioned on the official website (http://red-line.jp/)…

The “human-vampire-werewolf” love triangle from the saga delighting thousands of teenagers worldwide is about to release on this Friday June 30th its 3rd episode; The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Following to Catherine Hardwicke and Chris Weit who were in charge of directing the first two episodes, it is now the turn of David Slade (who is used to vampires as he already directed 30 Days of Night) to direct this saga of forbidden desires’ third part. It makes no doubt that just as for both previous movies that were based on Stephenie Meyer’s best sellers; the feature will be as overwhelming to the box office as Robert Patisson will be to his girl fans! Moreover, it seems that Bella, Edward and Jacob are not done yet with their adventures two additional chapters will be needed to conclude this supernatural love story; chapter IV: Breaking Dawn and chapter V: Midnight Sun, respectively planed for 2011 and 2013… Just like frenzy fans’ expenses, seems like Bella’s heart still has some hard times to come!

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob - knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

After a short go at third person action games (Killzone Liberation released on PSP in 2006), the Dutch Guerrilla Games studio will be back in FPS mode for its famous futuristic franchise’s 3rd episode! Currently on its way, Killzone 3 is as always a Sony exclusivity (therefore to be played on PS3 only) and is supposed to come out next year. Though the exact release time isn’t known yet, some other very interesting infos have been revealed in the American magazine GamePro. Indeed, the first screenshots show beautiful snowy for the player to wander in 3D: those who own 3D glasses and adapted TVs will enjoy the spectacular visuals as the whole video game will be adapted to 3D! It is also said that the saga’s background should be a little more detailed, that the game will offer many hand to hand fights (similar to Uncharted) and that new material and weapons will be available (jet-pack and Wasp). But before a trailer comes out, discover here under the first pictures from the FPS which is surely about to become next year’s videogame event!

Directed by the excellent and French Joann Sfar (the actual author from the original comic book), Le Chat du Rabbin (The Rabbi’s Cat) takes place in Alger during the 20s through the memories of a little travelling cat that belongs to a rabbi. Due on November 3rd 2010 on French screens, the following pictures enable us to catch a first glimpse of the movie’s graphics. Both François Morel and Maurice Benichou will lend their voices to the cat and rabbi in this feature that we hope to be just as delightful as the original paper versions (5 volumes in total translated into 8 different languages). Therefore, in the hope that they should soon become animated, find out here below the feature’s first pictures its rather strange visual atmosphere…

Supposedly a modern version from George A. Romero’s 4th movie (1974), The Crazies was released on February 26th 2010. Directed by Breck Eisner, this nth American remake reuses most of the original story plot (a virus threat on a little town) and uses it as a scenario background to criticize the American military forces and the methods they use… A theme that Romero also explores in his 3rd zombies’ episode: Day of the Dead. Despite horror fans’ first doubts, the feature turned out to be quite effective and gory. Far from the crap movie that many expected, only regret remains in regards to the slightly weaker impact of the approached theme compared to the original feature…

However, if infected movies are indeed your cup of tea, then a trip to this little middle-west town is definitely a must! Anchor Bay plans on releasing the video editions on June 29th with a few bonuses such as the director’s voice comment as well as five other extras focussing on various aspects of the feature (making of, documentary on Romero, make up explanations and another doc on cinema pandemics)… Well, as suggested on the posters, now is not a good time to trust your neighbours!

Breck Eisner’s remake of the George A. Romero classic (the legendary horror director’s personal favourite) finds the Iowan town of Odgen Marsh under siege from its denizens after its water supply is contaminated with a deadly toxin. As the townspeople murder, pillage and generally run amok, it’s up to a small band of uncontaminated folk (led by the sheriff - played by Timothy Olyphant) to fight for survival.

After the proven success of its platform game on Nes, Super Nes and Gameboy, Metroïd saga had then benefited from a fresh start thanks to GameCube when Nintendo had cleverly changed the game play to more FPS and action focused. Given that, it is no real surprise to hear that the Japanese firm has decided once more to change once more the whole concept by announcing that the franchise’s next episode would be a hybrid one. Metroïd Other M’s gameplay will indeed be based on an aerial side view (from a 3rd person’s view), however the player will be able to skip back to subjective FPS views whenever he wishes to. Also improved with kinematics and dubbed dialogues, the scenario (taking place right after Super Nes’ episode) seems to hold a more important place and will offer the occasion to know a little more concerning the famous alien hunting heroine Samus Aran. Given the first critics of lucky reviews, the new Metroid episode seems to have succeeded in mixing the genres, and it is now time once more to put our power suits on and go kick some alien!

Produced by Terry Gilliam, the curious Anglo-French project called 1884-Yesterday’s Future is progressively unveiling on the internet. Although the video in question isn’t quite representative from what the final visual aspect should be (created by Tim Ollive in order to find financial support), it still gives us some indications regarding the steampunk atmosphere and the Victorian architecture in which the scenario should be taking place. Currently being finalized, the feature will mix 2D and 3D animation with some stop-motion parts (puppets)… This being said, this Anglo-French co-production should definitely raise some curiosity among animation fans looking for something unusual! For more info on the subject, then please take a look at the video beneath!

Based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic book that was cleverly mixing together indie rock music with teenage romance and some manga-inspired graphics, Edgar Wright’s film project finally ends up being quite exciting to many geeks due to the online trailer presenting a promising movie filled with impressive fight scenes in a video pop atmosphere and featuring a rather good cast! In this Scott Pilgrim versus the World, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz’s great director has replaced his two usual favourites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost for a more “American” cast: staring the fashionable Micheal Cera for the main part, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, charming Chris Evans (playing Human Torch in the Fantastic Four), Brandon Routh (Superman’s reboot), Jason Schwartzman and some new ones like Ellen Wong and Kieran Culkin… With amazing visuals (spectacular fight scenes, a comic book atmosphere) and a touching and clever scenario (a half looser hero with a large heart trying to get rid of his girl’s 7 exs), the meeting is set up on August 13th!

The paranormal video game saga F.E.A.R that was started in 1995 with a first really freaky episode is now ready for a 3rd one to be played on PS3, 360 and PC by the end of October 2010. Warner Bros’ Interactive Entertainment department has recently officially announced that Day 1 studios would be developing F.3.A.R in collaboration with Monolith Productions, who were at the head of the 2nd one’s conception. Hence, this means that Alma and her two sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel are back in this horrific FPS. Though it will still be possible to play with Point Man on its own, you will now also be able to play with both characters at the same time, thanks to the cooperation mode that has been introduced to improve the game! Hence the two brother enemies will sometimes have to join forces in order to fight against Armacham! Moreover, famous horror names have been added to the game’s conception: director John Carpenter has lend his visual know-how for kinematics while the great Steve Niles (writer of the comic book 30 days of nights) has co-written the scenario, making this 3rd episode even more exciting… Impatient would still not be strong enough to describe our actual feelings!
