Announced by Square Enix during last E3, the future videogame seems to tackle with MMORPG’s. The game will enable you to travel along with worldwide players all over Eorzea’s kingdom, well-known for its wild and dangerous countries in a fantasy world that mixes “magic” and “technology”. But before you see the first video extract, let’s shortly recall the various races you will have to play with. First of all, the basic race is the Huyrs, which are sorts of humans living on top of Eorza’s land. Then comes the Migo’te, catlike women divided into two tribes (one hunting only at night and the other during daylight). Lalafells are highly intelligent dwarfs that should become great allies whereas Reogadyns sailors have an incredible strength and thus will become more action focused. Finally, the mysterious Elezens are a very ancient race that used to reign over Eorzea before Huyrs arrived. So come on dear readers, take a good breath and sweat it out… as no precise date has been mentioned yet by Square!

No less! Be there on January 15th in movie theatres, should you wish to know whether From Hell’s directors have achieved a new blockbuster or just a small firecracker…

Just a small note to introduce you to the third teaser from movie Despicable me. Only this time, it doesn’t focus on unpleasant heroes but rather on the so called “Minions”. Well I wouldn’t totally say the trailer is entirely to their favour as one minute seems enough to find out how stupid they are, but let’s say the introduction with Gru’s little protégés (supposed to help him in his evil plans) has now been done. Let’s recall that Despicable me is a 3D animated feature due in summer 2010. An animation where the bad guys are the heroes, well now we’ve seen it all!

Only one month to go before we can meet again with major Shepard and his turian friend the warrior Garrus in their space adventures. Following to the first episode, this Mass Effect 2 will thus send you straight back into space to achieve new missions in an even nicer and smoother game than its predecessor. Still conceived by Bioware’s Canadian team, this role playing game with a strong focus on action will be available on PC and Xbox 360 by the end of January. Beware dear terrestrials … the Normandy and his crew will soon need your help!

England’s most famous private detective in literature, created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887, will be entitled to a new live adaptation of his adventures! Under Guy Ritchie’s direction (Snatch and Lock, Stock and two smocking barrels among others), Sherlock Holmes and his dear friend John H. Watson will come alive with the respective feature of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. According to the first available extracts on internet, the movie tends to rejuvenate the English detective into a modern version, very 21st century like. But will the investigation genius’ class be enough when confronted to such an evil crime genius as Lord Blackwood?

After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws’ kingdom, what’s an ogre to do? Well, if you’re Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What’s happened to this ogre’s roar? Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Long-considered as a reference as far as football videogames are concerned, Pro Evolution Soccer saga was beaten off in the past few years by main competitor Fifa. Hence, the Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 wishes to reverse the deal and gain back PES’ initial credibility to avoid being once more considered as “not as good as Fifa”. To do so, Konami has decided to revise upwards all graphics (finally worth of HD consoles), rework on the game play compared with the previous episode, and to adapt the artificial intelligence to ongoing game phases. Available on PS2, PS3, 360, PSP, PC and Wii, this new simulation now leaves it to virtual soccer fanatics’ decision!

Director Terry Gilliam loves to mess up with rationality and narrative spatiotemporal rules. Though a little less evident on this one, we still find this trademark in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, to be discovered on Friday, December 25th! With a three-star worth cast (last performance from the late Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp and Jude Law among others), the audience without any doubt should be charmed by Twelve Monkeys director’s new magical world (each scene seems unusual and quirky). Visually coloured in a Burton-style, Paranassus’ ramblings make up for the few scenario and emotional weaknesses of the screenplay. Though sometimes a little dull, this new feature from former Monty Python is still an excellent way to spend two pleasant hours watching a rather unusual feature in a visually charming off-beat universe!

This clearly arcade-looking racing game (sorry for simulation fans) called Split/Second, definitely isn’t for girls! Developed by Black Rock Studios for PC, 360 and PS3, the game will put you into a reality TV show where your task is to survive…and finish first, whatever it takes! To do so, you will be aloud to put spokes in your enemies’ wheels by bumping into their car or dangerously changing the track (when rushing into the various settings for example), no holds barred.  Expected during 2010’s second semester, Split/Second promises to be perfectly de-emphasizing!
