First of all, the basic race is the Huyrs, which are sorts of humans living on top of Eorza’s land. Then comes the Migo’te, catlike women divided into two tribes (one hunting only at night and the other during daylight). Lalafells are highly intelligent dwarfs that should become great allies whereas Reogadyns sailors have an incredible strength and thus will become more action focused. Finally, the mysterious Elezens are a very ancient race that used to reign over Eorzea before Huyrs arrived. So come on dear readers, take a good breath and sweat it out… as no precise date has been mentioned yet by Square!

Only one month to go before we can meet again with major Shepard and his turian friend the warrior Garrus in their space adventures. Following to the first episode, this Mass Effect 2 will thus send you straight back into space to achieve new missions in an even nicer and smoother game than its predecessor. Still conceived by Bioware’s Canadian team, this role playing game with a strong focus on action will be available on PC and Xbox 360 by the end of January. Beware dear terrestrials … the Normandy and his crew will soon need your help!

Long-considered as a reference as far as football videogames are concerned, Pro Evolution Soccer saga was beaten off in the past few years by main competitor Fifa. Hence, the Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 wishes to reverse the deal and gain back PES’ initial credibility to avoid being once more considered as “not as good as Fifa”. To do so, Konami has decided to revise upwards all graphics (finally worth of HD consoles), rework on the game play compared with the previous episode, and to adapt the artificial intelligence to ongoing game phases. Available on PS2, PS3, 360, PSP, PC and Wii, this new simulation now leaves it to virtual soccer fanatics’ decision!

This clearly arcade-looking racing game (sorry for simulation fans) called Split/Second, definitely isn’t for girls! Developed by Black Rock Studios for PC, 360 and PS3, the game will put you into a reality TV show where your task is to survive…and finish first, whatever it takes! To do so, you will be aloud to put spokes in your enemies’ wheels by bumping into their car or dangerously changing the track (when rushing into the various settings for example), no holds barred.  Expected during 2010’s second semester, Split/Second promises to be perfectly de-emphasizing!

Sam Fisher is a little worked up as he kind of got stabbed in the back: indeed, he is wrongly accused of murder and has to escape from his former employee who is determined to blame him and have him sent to jail. This 5th adventure of the spying and infiltration pro called Splinter Cell – Conviction is due in February for Xbox and PC. The demo won’t be coming out before January but in the meantime you can always take a look at the collector edition’s package (including a Sam’s figurine with it). Ubisoft promises for this latest chapter of the well-known saga a radical change: more action and less infiltration. As usual, let’s just wait up till its coming out to get a clearer idea of the announced changes!

At the time of its release, Silent Hill was Resident’s Evil main competitor. Konami’s one was maybe less gory than Capcom’s, but on the other hand more efforts were put into it so as to create a really scary atmosphere. Coming out on Wii on December 8th, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories offers you the possibility to attend the first episode’s events once more. Neither a remake nor a reboot, this new episode has a rather unusual concept: poor Harry Mason tries to tell a psychiatrist from the terrible story that happened to him a few years ago. So once more, you will have to explore with your flashlight this dark town where you once lost your daughter… But of course, memories get shattered with time…

As first game 360 to have existed in high definition, Crackdown will now give way to its bustling continuation: Crackdown 2 (what a surprise!) that should lead you back into the streets of Pacific City. 10 years after the first opus’ release, this follow up takes you back to the nightmare of a Pacific City sinking deep into chaos. When night comes, Freaks (mutant creatures fearing sunlight) come out from all sewers to fill in their fridges with raw flesh. Together or alone, you will once more operate under the Agency’s command so as to recover order and peace in the city some time in 2010.

Now all theses characteristics have been given up in favour of a strongly tactical FPS, coming out on December 1st on Xbox, PC and PS3… Indeed, in this software conceived by Rebellion Developments, the success of your missions in Rogue Warrior will mostly depend on your choices as well as on how well you get on with your team mates. To be played alone or in a multiplayer mode, let’s see if the game will manage to overshadow Modern Warfare 2’s recent success…
