Straight out of David Perry’s overactive imagination, who is well known for his funny platform games, the most famous video worm with the robotic suit will be back in 2010 on XBLA and PSN. Sadly this won’t be any new episode but only a High Definition remake from the saga’s very first part, though still improved with various bonuses such as new levels, improved graphics and more importantly, a multi player mode (4 simultaneously)… Released back then on Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Game Gear, Gameboy, Mega-CD and PC, the game at that time stood out thanks to its daft humour in cartoon-like graphs with pleasantly crazy characters! So if our favourite worm treats himself to a face lift, why miss it?

After a short go at third person action games (Killzone Liberation released on PSP in 2006), the Dutch Guerrilla Games studio will be back in FPS mode for its famous futuristic franchise’s 3rd episode! Currently on its way, Killzone 3 is as always a Sony exclusivity (therefore to be played on PS3 only) and is supposed to come out next year. Though the exact release time isn’t known yet, some other very interesting infos have been revealed in the American magazine GamePro. Indeed, the first screenshots show beautiful snowy for the player to wander in 3D: those who own 3D glasses and adapted TVs will enjoy the spectacular visuals as the whole video game will be adapted to 3D! It is also said that the saga’s background should be a little more detailed, that the game will offer many hand to hand fights (similar to Uncharted) and that new material and weapons will be available (jet-pack and Wasp). After the proven success of its platform game on Nes, Super Nes and Gameboy, Metroïd saga had then benefited from a fresh start thanks to GameCube when Nintendo had cleverly changed the game play to more FPS and action focused. Given that, it is no real surprise to hear that the Japanese firm has decided once more to change once more the whole concept by announcing that the franchise’s next episode would be a hybrid one. Metroïd Other M’s gameplay will indeed be based on an aerial side view (from a 3rd  person’s view), however the player will be able to skip back to subjective FPS views whenever he wishes to. Also improved with kinematics and dubbed dialogues, the scenario (taking place right after Super Nes’ episode) seems to hold a more important place and will offer the occasion to know a little more concerning the famous alien hunting heroine Samus Aran. Given the first critics of lucky reviews, the new Metroid episode seems to have succeeded in mixing the genres, and it is now time once more to put our power suits on and go kick some alien!

The paranormal video game saga F.E.A.R that was started in 1995 with a first really freaky episode is now ready for a 3rd one to be played on PS3, 360 and PC by the end of October 2010. Warner Bros’ Interactive Entertainment department has recently officially announced that Day 1 studios would be developing F.3.A.R in collaboration with Monolith Productions, who were at the head of the 2nd one’s conception. Hence, this means that Alma and her two sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel are back in this horrific FPS. Though it will still be possible to play with Point Man on its own, you will now also be able to play with both characters at the same time, thanks to the cooperation mode that has been introduced to improve the game! Hence the two brother enemies will sometimes have to join forces in order to fight against Armacham! Moreover, famous horror names have been added to the game’s conception: director John Carpenter has lend his visual know-how for kinematics while the great Steve Niles (writer of the comic book 30 days of nights) has co-written the scenario, making this 3rd episode even more exciting… Impatient would still not be strong enough to describe our actual feelings!

Two months after being officially announced, Lara Croft’s return on videogame draws all attentions once more! Hence, we now know that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be available for download only on PC, Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade for just 15$! The story plot will have you confronted to Vasco, who through a smoke mirror enabling access between Earth and Chaos, will unintentionally release some evil creature that you will have to defeat! With a Maya divinity (named Totec) helping her with her task, this new version will probably surprise both fans and beginners: though still focused on action and adventure, our pixelised lady Indiana Jones’ new adventures have a definite taste of hack & slash! Mostly based on a 2 players cooperative gameplay (online or console), the device reveals its whole potential through the ability to evolve together by combining both characters personal capacities… As shown in the few videos already made available on the internet, seems like some good stuff is arriving…

First episode from a new trilogy in progress, Alien Breed Evolution is the remake from the classic action game with aerial views of the same name, which came out on Amiga in 1993. Just like for the original one, the project is being developed by Team 17 studio, also known for some other great games such as the Worms franchise (having armies of worms warriors fighting with bazookas, old exploding ladies and radioactive skunks)! Released last December 2009 via the Xbox Live Arcade download platform, Alien Breed Evolution will have its name slightly changed next June for its release on PC and PS3: from then on, it will be called Alien Breed Impact! This curious name modification actually bears the few improvements that have been made to the game, compared to Microsoft’s previous version already available (improved cooperative mode, more complete prologue…). Apart from these, nothing has really changed and you will still play a Marine in charge of eradicating all the aliens wandering in the spaceship’s long corridors! In spite of the studio’s will of privacy, it seems that 2nd episode’s name has also already been revealed on the internet and should be called: Alien Breed 2: Assault!

Produced by Konami and developed by Kojima Productions, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be available from tomorrow June 8th on Sony’s portable game console. 10 years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, this new episode of the famous action franchise is mainly oriented on infiltration and cooperation. Being Naked Snake (alias Big Boss), the game takes place in Costa Rica where the government needs you to help him face an unknown military threat. Though the graphics and gameplay are identical to those of Metal Gear: Portable OPS; the main innovation concerns the cooperative actions, which can be done thanks to some clones helping you all the way through the game. For example, you will be able to go under a closed door after asking one of your clones to keep it locked… your clones will thus have a real importance in all of the game’s phases, to reanimate or carry you, cover you up or even make diversion. Supposed to be a full fledged new episode (not just some cross over or separate game), Peace Walker is therefore an essential to all true fans… Discover right now two extra videos to find out more on the game and its attributes!

The one thing special about Naughty Bear game is the great paradox of having a video game full of soft toys but still forbidden to players under 16! The reason for this is actually simple, let’s just recall the game’s story…  Based on hatred and revenge, a teddy bear called Naughty Bear who was never invited to birthday parties is angry… in spite of the self made present he spent time on, he will still be rejected because of his patch worked skin! But the day has now come for Naughty Bear to get his revenge on 360 and PS3… and this won’t be nice to look at! Hence, he will have you helping him in his quest, by killing one by one all inhabitants of the island. To do so, the gameplay and its reward system will force you to be as creative as possible when murdering or destroying. The more you will be feared, the more trophies and various weapons you earn… For example, pushing a neighbour to suicide or trapping a car will be more rewarded than simple cold blood execution… This violent 2nd degree game will definitely take you back to childhood… only without the stupid side!

The announcement of a new episode for Call of Duty is always a special event in the world of video games. For this reason, the revelations made by Activision last April 30th have had their impact on the pixels world: the saga’s 7th episode entitled Black Ops will be available on PC and 360 from November 9th 2010! Precisely! 4th one to be developed by Treyarch studio since the beginning of the saga, this opus takes place during the Cold War and brings the gamer all around the world! But before we find out more concerning the game’s content, here is a trailer with the first official pictures!

Already sold to more than one million copies since its October 2008 release, the survival horror spatial Dead Space won different awards and gained from reviews a well-deserved recognition. With this said, gamers are very delighted and impatient to find out about its continuation project.
