We already talked over the remake of Friday The 13th, a condensation of all three first episodes of the old school slasher of the same name. This warmed up Hollywood version had incidentally poorly appealed to critics and viewers. That said, it seemed difficult not to be disappointed by Marcus Nispel’s remake, which in spite of an even crueller Jason, has lost a lot of its original nature due to a far too stereotyped scenario (as well as the teenagers in it). However, let’s not forget one of its major assets, that is, its share of bloody murders! It seems Jason is just like French wine, he gets better with time!
Anyway, just as mentioned in the title, fans of Crystal Lake’s bogeyman should benefit from his favours on DVD and Blu-Ray from Tuesday, 16th June. Just like many horror movies, a second edition called The Killer Cut will be added on the DVD in addition to the simple cinema version. It will contain a long version of the movie (around 10 extra minutes) as well as a making of (The Rebirth of Jason Voorhees) and additional murder scenes. The Blu-Ray edition is the most complete of all with the two movies, many more exclusive features (a visual ranking from Jason’s best murders, tests to estimate your knowledge on the subject, interactive bonuses, etc.) as well as various documentaries on the remake’s production. No doubt that fans will enjoy the many spicy details abounding in the different editions. So, how long will last your visit to Crystal Lake?
